The Facilitators Toolkit

A 2-day masterclass for anyone who leads
meetings, workshops or community conversations.

The Atrium Cafe and Conference Centre, Tauranga

Wednesday 10th - Thursday 11th June

Leading effective meetings and workshops can be a tough gig. Especially when you’re faced with strong personalities, diverse opinions, and that one guy who keeps going down rabbit holes. Quiet voices barely get a chance to speak, and when they do, they’re dismissed by the nay-sayers on the other side of the table.

Navigating tricky group dynamics doesn’t happen by accident. You need a toolkit of structures, frameworks and strategies to make the tough stuff easier and you need the confidence to put those strategies into play.

That’s why I created The Facilitators Toolkit.

It’s a 2-day in-person masterclass where you can get the tools and confidence you need to lead your meetings well.

Learn how to design meetings and workshops for the best chance of success.
Most people think that a great meeting is all about what happens in the room, but how you design your session makes a massive difference to how it runs. And here’s the thing: Effective design is much more than creating an agenda. It’s about carefully crafted structures and frameworks that promote
engagement and help prevent challenging behaviours from the beginning.

Discover simple tools for encouraging open discussion, collaboration and consensus.
It’s one thing to have open discussion, but being able to guide groups to a decision takes more than flipcharts and sticky dots. Plus, different methods work better in different contexts. In this masterclass, you’ll gather a bunch of tools and techniques for enabling robust discussion and clear decision making. When you have a variety of options in your back pocket, you can choose the right tool for any situation.

Gather practical techniques for managing workshop challenges and disruptions.
Not everyone arrives at a workshop with an open mind and ready to engage, and even with a well-designed meeting, things don’t always go to plan. In this masterclass, you’ll gather techniques for managing challenging behaviour, disrupting power dynamics, and keeping the workshop on-time and on-track. No more going around in circles or having one person take all the air-time.

This workshop is highly interactive and extremely practical. You will leave with a toolkit of activities, processes, and how-tos you can use in any situation. It doesn’t matter what kind of meeting or workshop you facilitate—this workshop is for you.

I enjoyed how everything was broken down into bite sized learnings, steps, processes. There were always lots of real examples used, which helped to reinforce and cement content. Interactive, challenging and so much fun!

Just wanted to send through a thank you for the course the other week. It was very informative. I’ve put some of the things you showed into action and they’re really helping out already.

Thank you for your time yesterday. The Local Government space has a lot to learn from facilitators like you. I’ve had lots of great feedback from the team and they’re already thinking on how they apply the techniques in their different situations.
