The ultimate support for trainers and facilitators.

Whether you’re leading meetings, workshops or community conversations, bringing groups together can be a lonely—and often vulnerable—gig.

You do all the prep, you put yourself out there, and then the group tells you what they liked and what they didn’t. It’s one of the few jobs I know where you get a performance appraisal every time you show up—and it’s usually from people who have no experience facilitating themselves.

That’s part of the reason I started The Facilitators Network.

Not only is it a place to learn new skills and develop your craft, it’s a place where you can share your challenges and get judgement-free advice from people who understand where you’re at. Whether it’s tools for curbing the avid-over-sharer, activity ideas for encouraging engagement, or learning to work with reluctant participants, the best advice comes from people who have already been in your shoes.

That's why The Facilitators Network is more than a professional association.
It’s a place where people genuinely connect, learn and grow together. You don't get support like this anywhere else.

The BackStory

Like most facilitators, I ended up in facilitation by accident. As a new (and very young) manager, I was expected to lead meetings and workshops as a part of my role. I had no formal training and no experience at the front of the room—so I was crafting my sessions based on what I’d seen others do. And honestly, some of what I’d seen was pretty terrible.

Thankfully, I quickly realised that I was modelling my facilitation on less-than-brilliant examples, and I actively sought out new ways of doing things. I read books, I did some training, and I put myself in rooms where I knew the facilitator would be good. Slowly but surely, I honed my craft and started my own facilitation business, but without someone to bounce ideas and ask for advice, it took me way longer than it should have done.

That’s why I started the Facilitators Network.
To give new and accidental facilitators the support I needed all those years ago.

But here’s the thing:
The Facilitators Network is so much more than that.

These days The Facilitators Network has members with all levels of experience supporting each other side-by-side. There are some members who have been facilitating for decades, some who are just starting out, and a whole bunch of people who are somewhere in-between.

It’s often referred to as ‘the community I didn’t know I needed’ and it’s open to anyone who leads meetings, workshops or community conversations. You don’t need to call yourself a facilitator to be part of the crew.

When you post a question in our private platform, there’s always plenty of people who have been where you’re at and there is a genuine willingness to share ideas, experience and advice. You don’t just get me (Kerri) as an online mentor, you get a team of peer-mentors available 24/7.

Ongoing Learning Opportunities.

Each month the network hosts 2-3 online meet-ups where we focus on a different aspect of facilitation or building a facilitation business. The meet-ups are like mini-workshops and are facilitated at different times, to suit different time-zones. Plus, the meetups are all recorded, so you can dip in and out in your own time.

Searchable Resource and Activity Library.

Our online platform is stacked full of downloadable resources and activities you can instantly use to increase engagement and improve your sessions. The library is being added to every week, so it just keeps getting better and better.

Job Alerts and Referrals.

I am regularly approached by organisations looking for a trainer or facilitator around a specific topic, or in a specific location. Where the request lines up with a just a few people, I make a personal e-introduction to help you get a foot in the door. Where the request might fit many of our network members, it is posted in our Job Alert board, so members can get in touch directly. Lots of our network members have got their first few clients through a network referral.

The Facilitators Network is the ultimate support for trainers and facilitators
who want to increase engagement, get better outcomes and do more of the work they love.
