Deliberately Generous Facilitation

A 3 Day Advanced Facilitation Course for Experienced Facilitators

Auckland, New Zealand
Tuesday 22nd – Thursday 24th September 2026

When you’re working in complex environments, being able to read the room and pivot when needed is an essential part of great facilitation. It’s what moves a session from interesting to impactful and it’s the difference between tick-the-box outputs and meaningful outcomes.

But here’s the thing:
Pivoting mid-session doesn’t always feel easy or comfortable.

You need to make split-second decisions, while weighing up the needs of individuals against the needs of the whole group. To add to the complexity, those needs are constantly changing and your own emotions, beliefs and biases are coming out to play. Is it any wonder we sometimes leave a session exhausted?

Knowing how to read the room and pivot with intention is the thinking behind Deliberately Generous Facilitation.

It’s about identifying what would be of most benefit to the group in any given moment, and then deliberately giving them more of that.

In this Advanced Facilitation Course, you will:

Learn how to read the room by noticing what’s happening just below the surface.

Get confident trusting your instincts, so you’re not constantly second-guessing your decisions in the room.

Discover simple techniques for identifying and naming what’s most needed in any given
moment, and

Explore practical strategies for giving groups
what they need, even when it feels hard or uncomfortable.

We will explore things like how to:

Safely bring the elephant into the room (whatever that elephant might be), and

Work with the changing needs and dynamics of the group.

It's all about knowing when and how to pivot, and when to stick with the plan.

Throughout this 3-day workshop you’ll explore the principles of Deliberate Generosity and how those play out in a group session. Participants in this course will be the first people in the world to become certified in Deliberately Generous Facilitation—a framework that has been developed through 25 years in the field.

This course is only being held once a year.
Space is limited to 15 people.

When Kerri is facilitating you never feel rushed. She’s got this natural flow and calmness to her. You just get to where you need to go, but you never feel like you’re being pushed along. It just flows. It’s so nice as a participant, and as a fellow facilitator I want to be able to create that myself.
